Of course they're smart ...
For those of you who knew Joe's grandmother, you'd know to finish that title line with, "they're my great-grandchildren!" Mema loved to brag on her family.
Yesterday, Joe took the children out to breakfast. One of the cafes here serves a yummy bagel breakfast (bagel with egg and cheese, orange juice, and mint tea, coffee or hot chocolate) for about $1.80. Daddy took the kids out to celebrate their amazing report cards - 4/5 of them had straight A marks for the 2nd trimester. We were very proud!
"Bagels?!?" you say. One of the families, whose children are at the school, owns a cafe. Since they lived in New York City for a while before returning to their home here, they learned to love bagels and once a week or so the mother of the family spends all day making bagels. Quite a number of us have made the cafe a Saturday morning routine - we go there and hang out enjoying our bagels and each other's company. It is quite the treat!
