Welcome ...
to our blog - this is where you will find out what is going on with us. We will try to keep this up to date but with teaching and raising 5 kids in a different culture I make no promises. Feel free to use the comments feature at the end of each post to let us know what you think. This may be a way for you to let us know how you are doing as well.
For those of you desperate for news of the children, they are all well...
For those of you desperate for news of the children, they are all well...
- High school report cards just came out and Bobby earned straight As for the 2nd trimester. He just finished well in basketball and is looking forward to swim season starting up – he loves his Marine Biology class.
- Christy is working through Purpose Driven Life with some of the girls from Youth Group, she too played basketball – though, being in 8th grade, she didn’t see a lot of time on the court this first season. She signed up for dance as her elective for the third trimester but the music and the moves are both more suggestive than she is comfortable with and will be dropping the class - we are very proud of her.
- Catie is loving languages still – her French teacher told me that she is at the top of her class, for her Arabic class she had to tell a funny story of when she was younger. She is also learning kitchen skills (it’s hard when her older sister is so good at it already to find time in the kitchen).
- Millie just did an amazing report on Malawi for her 4th grade class, she was great and was the only one who thought to talk about a day in the life of a Malawian woman. Her teacher told her she was great.
- Claire is star of the week this week in 2nd grade – she gets to lead the class in lines to and from their various activities, she’s Miss Rabb’s special helper and there is a little photo collage of her in her classroom. One of her classmates stopped me in the hall Friday to tell me that Claire was cute when she was little.
Blessings!
